<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an image forming apparatus while reducing roll traces on sheets. <P>SOLUTION: Evaluation results have been obtained which show that a distance from a nip part 97 to a nip part 107, which satisfies grade G2 of roll traces left by an inverting roll 106 and a pinch roll 106b for inversion, is 135 mm in the case of a sheet having 98 gsm basis weight and is 178 mm in the case of a sheet having 105 gsm basis weight. The sheet having 105 gsm basis weight has a larger heat capacity than the sheet having 98 gsm basis weight and is more hardly cooled by ambient air than the sheet having 98 gsm basis weight. Therefore, the distance from the nip part 97 to the nip part 107, which satisfies grade G2 of roll traces, for a transported sheet having 105 gsm basis weight is longer than that for a transported sheet having 98 gsm basis weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
