MODEL RECOGNITION METHOD FOR ANALOG TELEPHONE SET AND ANALOG TELEPHONE LINE NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model recognition method for an analog telephone set and an analog telephone line network which enable a superordinate exchange side to identify models of subordinate analog telephone sets. SOLUTION: The exchange 20 performs model recognition of analog telephone sets in the analog telephone line network 10 provided with the exchange 20 connected to a public switched telephone network 15 and the analog telephone sets 60 connected to the exchange by speech lines 92 and connection confirmation lies 94. The exchange makes a speech line available of speech in response to a speech request from the public switched telephone network 15 or the analog telephone set and then confirms whether or not the model of the analog telephone set connected to the speech line can be identified. This confirmation is carried out by providing potential difference to the connection confirmation line 94 connected through a resistive component 82 in the analog telephone set in response to the speech request and discriminating whether or not a current flows through the connection confirmation line due to the potential difference. When the current flows through the connection confirmation line 94, the exchange identifies the model of the analog telephone set on the basis of the current. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
