PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flat cable device which is hardly bent and can maintain suppleness as a cable, and a scanner module using this kind of flat cable device. SOLUTION: The scanner module 100 is constructed of an image reading side device 101 of movable type and a control device 102, and a flat cable device 105 to connect these. The flat cable device 105 is constructed of a first and a second flat cables 108, 109 connected with cable side connectors (106, 113), (107, 115) at the respective end parts and coupling parts 111<SB>1</SB>, 111<SB>2</SB>which interlock these by coupling these.
