NUMERICAL CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the definition formula of a new three-dimensional clothoid curve succeeding to the characteristics of a two-dimensional clothoid curve in which a curvature change pattern for independent variables is simple as much as possible for executing the numerical control of the motion of a tool. SOLUTION: This numerical control method is provided to express the route of a tool or the profile of a work by using a three-dimensional curve (called three-dimensional clothoid curve) in which each of a pitch angle and yaw angle in tangential direction is given by the quadratic of curve length or curve length variables, and to control the motion of a tool by the three-dimensional curve.
