PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an operational burden required for updating firmware is great. SOLUTION: There are included an I-FAX device 2 with firmware that can be updated, packaged therein and an FTP server 4 for storing and managing an update file of the firmware, the I-FAX device includes a log-in ID creation section 24 for creating a log-in ID and a password based on a machine type code and a version, and the FTP server includes an update file storage section 13 in which the update file is stored in a directory for each classification information, and an update file transmission section 11B for transmitting, to the I-FAX device, the update file stored in the directory of classification information corresponding to the log-in ID if the log-in ID and the password are authenticated.
