PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an efficient continuous treatment and an inexpensive drying treatment by rapidly suckingly carrying steam generated by heating the wet material to the outside of a rotary kiln and leading the outside air therein to discharge water molecules to the outside of the kiln to keep a barometric pressure in the kiln in a state of being lower than the saturated steam pressure of the moisture contained in the material by the discharge and suction of the outside air and to promote the evaporation of moisture to increase drying efficiency so as to reduce a drying time. SOLUTION: The wet material is fed into a drying furnace 2 and liquid components contained in the material are gasified and the gasified liquid components are suckingly exhausted by a blower means 1 communicating with the one end side of the heating treating furnace 2 and the outside air is led from the other end side of the drying furnace 2 to promote the drying of the material. A valve means 202 may be installed in a means for leading the outside air. In this case, the outside air is continuously or intermittently led into the drying furnace 2.
