PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To subject a piston to natural cooling using a very simple structure and prevent brake liquid from getting a high temperature even if the braking heat is conducted from friction pads to the piston. SOLUTION: The piston 7 to push the friction pads 4 so as to move toward the side face of a disc rotor 2 is inserted into a cylinder hole 3f formed in a caliper body 3 in such a condition that the pad side protrudes from the cylinder hole 3f. Between the inside surface of the cylinder hole 3f and the peripheral surface of the piston 7, the piston 7 is held liquid-tightly and movably. The dimension D1 between the opening face 3i of the cylinder hole 3f where a piston seal 8 is arranged and the forefront face 7a of the piston 7 protruding from the cylinder hole 3f is set larger than the dimension D2 between the piston seal 8 and the cylinder hole opening face 3i.
