PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high load drive belt enduring in use in high speed rotation by reducing weight of a belt by reducing weight of a block and retaining sufficient strength of the block. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing the high load drive belt 1 having a block 2 attached on tension belts 3a, 3b, a sheet metal member including a rib part R formed by bending whole circumference of a flat plate as an insert material 2a is used, and height of the rib part R is in a range of 20-60% of thickness of the block.
