PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a resin liquid which has excellent optical characteristics, electric characteristics, heat resistance, strengths and solubility as a coating material or a sealing material for optical parts or electronic parts. SOLUTION: The coating resin liquid comprises an aromatic polycarbonate resin which contains at least one kind of repeating units represented by general formula [1] [R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently a halogen atom, a 1 to 6C alkyl, a 1 to 6C alkoxy, a 6 to 12C aryl, a 7 to 13C arylalkyl or arylalkenyl, or a 1 to 6C fluoroalkyl; R<SP>3</SP>is a halogen atom, a 1 to 12C alkyl, a 1 to 12C alkoxy, a 6 to 12C aryl, a 7 to 13C arylalkyl or arylalkenyl, or a 1 to 12C fluoroalkyl; (a) and (b) are each an integer of 0 to 4; (c) is an integer of 0 to 14], and whose solution in methylene chloride as a solvent and having a concentration of 0.5 g/dl has a reduced viscosity [ηsp/C] of≥0.1 dl/g at 20°C.
