PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant epoxy resin composition which uses no halogen-based flame retarder, generates little harmful gas and has an excellent flame-retardancy together with low viscosity and excellent workability; to provide an electric/electronic part insulated by using the same composition and its production method. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant epoxy resin composition comprises (a) an epoxy resin, (b) an acid anhydride, (c) hydrated alumina and (d) a silane compound, where the content of the silane compound (d) is at least 1 wt.% of the epoxy resin (a).
