PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant that can effectively eliminate odor from sulfur compounds such as mercaptan and the like, nitrogen compounds such as amine and the like, and so on. SOLUTION: The deodorant is made of a solution of pH 5.0 to 9.5 containing at least one active deodorizing constituent selected from gallic acid, tannic acid, and caffeine acid. The concentration of a buffer agent in the solution is less than 0.01 mol/L. When the action of the buffer agent is strong, deodorizing effects decrease. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
