<p>The pedal crank drive system for a bicycle has at least one pedal crank shaft, the section of which between the pedals is equipped with a crank (3) to which is connected via at least one built-in connecting rod (4) at least one spring element (5) in an articulated manner. The spring element by its other end is connected to the frame or a frame part of the bicycle.
