A holding frame for safe storage of a book, e.g. a miniature book, is open at one side allowing the book to be slid into the frame. The frame is fitted with a loop (24) to fit onto a neck strap (18) which enables the user to safely carry the book. The frame can be made as a one piece plastic moulding with integral support loop and with a storage facility (28) for a pen or pencil (26).
