<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain further the thickness reduction of an optical apparatus although it is difficult for a conventional optical disk and optical disk apparatus to make thin further because a part of a motor is disposed at an upper part or a lower part of the optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk apparatus includes a chassis 2, a motor 3 attached to the chassis 2, an optical disk 1 attached to an output axis 3a of the motor 3 and an optical head 4 attached to the chassis 2 so as to be able to scan the optical disk 1. A permanent magnet 1b is attached to the outer peripheral end surface of an optical disk main body 1a and a stator 3b of the motor 3 is attached to the chassis 2 so as to be opposed to the permanent magnet 1b in the same two-dimensional surface as the optical disk 1 using the permanent magnet 1 as a rotor of the motor 3. Thereby a mechanical part, wiring and the like of the motor 3 are eliminated from the upper or lower surface of the optical disk 1 and thickness reduction of the motor 3 and further the total optical disk apparatus can be attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
