<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which prevents oxidation of a fuel cell during the stoppage of the fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises a fuel cell that has a solid polyelectrolyte membrane 30 between a fuel electrode 2 supplied with hydrogen and an air electrode 3 supplied with air, a hydrogen supply device 4 for supplying hydrogen to the fuel electrode 2, and an air compressor 5 for supplying air to the air electrode 3, and further comprises a pure water tank 6 for storing pure water and cut-off valves 7-10 for sealing pure water into the fuel electrode 2 and the air electrode 3. At the time of stopping the fuel cell, the hydrogen of the fuel electrode 2 is moved to the air electrode 3 and oxygen is consumed, and then, the pure water is sealed in the fuel electrode and the air electrode 3 and the fuel cell is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
