<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a camera that can use the entire effective pixel of an image pickup device in photography, obtains the colorimetry information of a field without providing a photometric device prepared for colorimetry, and can precisely adjust white balance. <P>SOLUTION: The camera comprises the image pickup device having an imaging surface for photometrically converting an object image, an image pickup optical system for leading object light to the image pickup device, and an ambient light introduction means for leading ambient light to the inside in an optical path except the image pickup optical system.
