<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by successively displaying images to be enlarged in one screen when there are a plurality of images to be enlarged and narrowing images that a user really wants to view stepwise when there are a large number of images. <P>SOLUTION: The user selects a plurality of images to be enlarged from thumbnail list display. The user clicks an enlargement button after selecting them and then only the selected images are displayed in order in one screen. At this time, the selected images are placed at the head of an image array and unselected images are rearranged at the tail of the image array. Then only the selected images are displayed in a window. A matrix of image arrays at the time of enlargement is so set that the selected images have a maximum thumbnail size.
