PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver and a reception switching method which smoothly outputs sounds without breaking sounds and without losing the continuity, even when programs different in sampling frequency are continuously broadcast. SOLUTION: When a digital broadcast with varying its sampling frequency is received to select and output digital information with sounds corrected by a DSP 5, a comparator 3d checks whether the received digital broadcast and analog broadcast have equal contents. If both broadcasts are equal, a change-over switch 3b is switched to select and output analog information obtained by receiving the analog broadcast during changing the settings of the DSP 5 when the sampling frequency changes.
