PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for composing a delicate color tone and color density for a color image being displayed by RGB color signals. SOLUTION: The color signal converter comprises a chromatic color/achromatic color conversion circuit for calculating a first achromatic color signal and a first chromatic color signal from an input RGB color signal and judging a hue prime area by dividing a hue coordinate system by six from the first chromatic color signal, a signal correction circuit for converting the first chromatic color signal into a second chromatic color signal in that hue prime area, and a signal restoration circuit for calculating an output color signal from the first achromatic color signal and the second chromatic color signal.
