PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase attractive force remarkably in a long attraction distance to solve the problem, wherein the attractive force when starting attraction is weak, if the attraction distance between an attracting plate piece and a fixed iron core is long in a hinge-type solenoid. SOLUTION: In the hinge type solenoid, namely a solenoid shaped in that a return spring of the attracting plate piece is hung at an end of the attracting plate piece, the fixed iron core fixed at a center of an attracting coil has a recess processed in truncated cone profile. The attractive force of the attracting plate piece, when starting attraction can be markedly increased, by shortening the attraction distance between the fixed and an attracting iron cores, in such a way that the attracting iron core processed in the truncated cone profile is fixed in a shape of convex at a fixed iron core side in the attracting plate piece, located at a position relative to that of the fixed iron core.
