PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material and a method for forming an image which enable a large amount of prints to be produced in a short period of time and high-quality printing with less print defects to be performed. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material for scanning exposure is characterized in that a hard roller is used as a transport roller for imagewise exposure, the transport speed for sub-scanning is≥90 mm/sec, and after scanning exposure is carried out while the material is horizontally transported, color developing is started. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has each at least one layer of blue photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow dye forming coupler, a magenta dye forming green photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a cyan dye forming red photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, on a support. The silver halide particles included in the blue photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer has≥90 mol% silver chloride content, and spectrally sensitized by at least one kind of dye expressed by general formula (I).
