PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal rotary compressor and an air conditioner capable of preventing the excessive rise of pressure during high-speed rotation while ensuring oil feeding capacity during the low-speed rotation of a gear pump. SOLUTION: The horizontal rotary compressor 10 is provided with the gear pump 101 at the rotary compression mechanism part 18 side end of a rotary shaft 16. The gear pump 101 is provided with a gear pair 93 comprising an external gear 93A provided in a gear chamber 92 of a housing 90, and an internal gear 93B located inside the external gear 93A and fitted to the rotary shaft 16; and an oil intake passage 112 for pumping up oil from a lower part in a sealed container 12. Pumping action is generated to the gear pair 93 by the meshed rotary motion of the internal gear 93B and external gear 93A to pump up oil into the gear chamber 92 from an oil intake part 94 via the oil intake passage 112 and to supply oil to the rotary shaft 16 from an oil supply part 95.
