PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter capable of preventing the direct contact of reversal washing liquid, which is supplied into a casing, with the peripheral part of a water collecting slit under high pressure at the time of reversal washing of a filter element and capable of equally spreading the reversal washing liquid over the whole of the filter element. SOLUTION: This filter incorporates the filter element 2, which has film filter cells 4 having filter films arranged inside, water collecting cells 5 adjacent to the film filter cells 4 and becoming flow channels of the filtrate filtered by the filter films and water collecting slits 7 cut in a definite direction so as to communicate with outer peripheral walls surrounding these cells and piercing the water collecting cells 5 from one regions of the outer peripheral walls up to the other regions of the outer peripheral walls, in the casing 12. A reversal washing liquid supply port 17 is provided to the casing 12 and the angleθformed by the cutting-in direction of the water collecting slits 7 and the axial direction of the reversal washing liquid supply port 17 is set to 90±25°.
