PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a porous structure having excellent heat resistance, satisfied strength as a porous body in spite of being lightweight and comprising a high stiffness matrix by using an organic sponge like porous preform into which metallic powder is added to increase the ratio of a high stiffness ceramic occupied in the inside part of a skeleton part. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the porous structure includes a slurry preparation process for preparing slurry containing resins or the combination of the resins with carbon, the metallic powder or the ceramic powder, a slurry impregnation process for impregnating the metallic powder-containing organic sponge like porous preform with the slurry and removing the needless part, a carbonization process for carbonizing the porous preform at 900-1,350°C after the impregnation of slurry and a sintering and impregnation process for reacting and sintering the porous preform at≥1,250°C after the carbonization and melting the metal and impregnating with the metal at 1,300-1,800°C.
