PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a decorative member capable of strongly and stably bonding an ink receiving layer on a coating layer. SOLUTION: The coating layer 2 is provided on a substrate 1 made of a metal. A number of fine irregularities are formed on the surface of the coating layer 2 to roughen it. In addition, a transparent ink receiving layer 5 is provided on the coating layer 2. This ink receiving layer 5 is composed of a different resin from a resin of a thermoplastic resin layer 4, for example, such a resin as a water dispersible resin, a polyester resin and a polyurethane resin. On the face of the coating layer 2 side of the ink receiving layer 5, a number of fine irregularities are formed and a colored pattern 6 with a coloring material is formed.
