[PROBLEMS] To provide a tape cassette capable of preventing an ink ribbon from running defectively even if an ink ribbon winding mechanism is not present. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Weak adhesive material layers (8) are formed on the surface of a label tape (5) near both lateral end parts thereof which are on the outside of a printing area. The surface of the ink ribbon (6) is stacked on the surface of the label tape (5), and the tape and the ink ribbon are pressed against each other by press-fitting rollers (30). Accordingly, the ink ribbon (6) can be adhered to the surface of the label tape (5). Then, the ink ribbon (6) is carried to a clearance between the thermal head and the platen of a tape printer in the state of being securely adhered to the surface of the label tape (5) without peeling off. As a result, since the ink ribbon (6) is adhered to the surface of the label tape (5) and not displaced even if the ink ribbon (6) is thermally transferred, the ink ribbon (6) can be prevented from running defectively.
