<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image monitoring device capable of obtaining the magnified image of a face by which characteristics of a person can be further easily obtained. <P>SOLUTION: Detection and tracing of a person are executed. It is managed whether a zoom shot of a face for each person is photographed or not. Zoom photography of a face of a person is executed whose zoom shot is not obtained. A representative face image is obtained. When it is predicted that a face image with a larger evaluation value can be obtained even regarding a person to whom zoom photography is executed once, the zoom photography is executed to the person again. Then, the representative face image is updated.
