<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt system which can detect the inoperable state of a DC motor for winding a seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: This seat belt system is constituted of the DC motor, a seat belt winding device, a motor driving circuit, a motor current detecting circuit, a motor rotation frequency detecting circuit, and a microcomputor. Then, the motor is driven for a period of time being shorter than a period of time from the start of the rotation of the DC motor to the start of the winding of the seat belt by the seat belt winding device, and the inoperable state of the DC motor is judged from the motor current and the motor rotation frequency during the period. Thus, the inoperable state of the DC motor for winding the seat belt can be detected without making a passenger feel the variation in the restraining force of the seat belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
