<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator for a vehicle which reduces the uncomfortable feeling of crew due to a noise generated by circulation of the outside air, without providing a separate cooling means except circulation of the outside air and also without altering the internal constitution. <P>SOLUTION: An axially opening 19 serving as the suction port of the outside air is covered with a space apart by shielding parts 34a to 34e provided to extend from the outer side of a case 2. In this way, a noise generated in the inside of the alternator is reflected by the shields 34a to 34e, so that the noise hardly propagates to the outside.
