PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording/reproducing apparatus capable of promptly displaying a target image onto a monitor at the time of image reproduction. SOLUTION: When a right key of a cross button is depressed, an image of a file number next to the regenerated image displayed on a monitor 32 is reproduced and displayed on the monitor 32. When a left key is depressed, an image of a file number previous to the regenerated image data displayed on the monitor 32 is reproduced and displayed on the monitor 32. Further, when an upper key of the cross button is depressed, an image of a top file number photographed in a photography date next to the regenerated image displayed on the monitor 32 is reproduced and displayed on the monitor 32. When a lower key is depressed, an image of a top file number photographed in a photography date previous to the regenerated image displayed on the monitor 32 is reproduced and displayed on the monitor 32.
