PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance lamp characteristics by decreasing the temperature of the coldest spot candidate by providing a position remote from the coldest spot candidate with silicon used as a reinforcing member. SOLUTION: In a single base type fluorescent lamp which comprises a discharge path bent at least one or more times, in which a mercury vapor pressure within a tube is controlled by the most cold spot rather than an amalgam, the corner of a bent becomes the coldest spot, and the reinforcing member having thermal conductivity is provided between bent discharge tubes, the reinforcing member is provided on an electrode side opposite the coldest spot from an crotch inside the bent.
