PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a recordable time as residual capacity during recording. SOLUTION: Physical quantity is recognized as recordable capacity by grasping the state of a disk as a recording medium, and during recording operation, a recordable time is calculated from relation of a bit rate by the present recording mode and the recordable capacity.
