OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND ITS FOCUS SEARCH METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of shortening focus search time and preventing the collision of an objective lens with the recording surface of an optical disk while flexibly dealing with the displacement of the recording surface of an optical disk from a reference plane according to the radial direction position of the optical disk, and its focus search method. SOLUTION: This device comprises a measuring means 15 for measuring the displacing amount of the recording surface of an optical disk from a reference surface according to the radial direction position of the optical disk 3 during the reproducing or recording thereof; and a correcting means 17 for correcting a driving signal supplied to a moving means 8 for focus search performed again after the reproducing or recording based on the displacing amount of the recording surface of the optical disk 3 from the reference surface.
