PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Y-bar for subduing a criminal to be easily overpowered even at the wall of a building or other sites with no obstacles. SOLUTION: A Y-bar body 2 is mounted at the distal end of a handle 1. The Y-bar body 2 comprises a forked bar 21 formed large enough to entrap a human body 47, movable opening/closing bars 23, 23 journaled at their base ends to the distal ends of both branch bars 22 of the forked bar to restrict the movement of the forked bar to the outside and opposed to each other to be turnable only to the inside of the forked bar, a resetting means 24 for turning both opening/closing bars 23 with the operation of a spring to reset them to original positions, and a body constraining rope 26 having one end engaging with the distal end of one opening/closing bar 23 and the other end engaging with the distal end of the other opening/closing bar 23 to form a proper size ring 42 at the inside of the forked bar.
