PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance consistency in the delivery direction of a sheet on a delivery tray, by further surely preventing the occurrence of a jam when delivering the sheet to the delivery tray. SOLUTION: Stiffness is imparted to the sheet by a projecting member 53 when starting delivery of the sheet. Impartment of the stiffness by the projecting member 53 is weakened in the middle of delivering the sheet.
