PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic paper feeding mechanism that has a sheet material progress disturbing means for returning a separated excessive sheet material to a loading position, does not restrict the size of a device in the case of the small image processing device, can be mounted without increasing the required space, and can expand the function range of the sheet material progress disturbing means. SOLUTION: The sheet material progress disturbing means 13 is movable between a first position for disturbing the progress of the sheet material P and a second position that does not disturb the progress of the sheet material. The sheet material progress disturbing means 13 comprises a plurality of movable members of a base member 14 having a movable part with respect to a sheet material conveyance route, an intermediate member 15 having a movable part with respect to a base member, and a sheet material abutting member 16 having a movable part with respect to the intermediate member.
