PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection of an article on a seat cushion as an occupant when the occupant seated on the seat is detected by a plurality of weight sensors provided on the seat cushion. SOLUTION: Left and right first switch cells 13L and 13R arranged on the seat cushion 11 to be turned on at low load are connected between a plus terminal 15a and a minus terminal 15b of a controller 15 in series, and the occupant is detected when both of the first switch cells 13L and 13R are turned on together. Further, left and right second switch cells 14L and 134R arranged on the seat cushion 11 to be turned on at high load are connected between the plus terminal 15a and the minus terminal 15b in parallel, and the occupant is detected when one of the second switch cells 14L and the 14R is turned on. Even when the article such as a handbag is placed on the seat cushion 11, the left and right first switch cells 13L and 14R are not turned on together, and the second switch cells 14L and 14R of which set load is high are not turned on.
