<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device both for gas replacement type occluded NO<SB>X</SB>discharge treatment capable of removing remaining oxygen without causing outflow loss of nitrogen gas and recovering/recycling the remaining gas in an NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent packed vessel through a series of replacement movements. <P>SOLUTION: A first gas tank filled with carbon dioxide gas is arranged above the NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent packed vessel, a second gas tank filled with nitrogen gas is arranged below the same and both of the tanks are connected with respective two connection pipes provided with opening/closing valves vertically reversibly around the NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent packed vessel. NO<SB>X</SB>in NO<SB>X</SB>polluted gas is adsorbed by an NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent and, thereafter, carbon dioxide gas in the first gas tank is allowed to flow down into the NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent packed vessel and is replaced with adsorbed gas in the second gas tank. Thereafter, the NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbed by NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent is desorbed and the NO<SB>X</SB>is decomposed in a discharging vessel. Subsequently, the vertical positions of the first and second gas tanks are reversed, carbon dioxide gas in the second gas tank is replaced with the treated gas in the NO<SB>X</SB>adsorbent packed vessel, and further, the treated gas is replaced with the adsorbed gas in the first gas tank. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
