<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device or the like which allows loss of illuminating light to be reduced in a configuration of recycling illuminating light and allows illuminating light to be efficiently supplied by reducing the emission area of illuminating light. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device has; light emitting parts 202 and 212 for supplying illuminating light; a reflective polarizer 222 which transmits polarized light oscillated in a prescribed direction and reflects polarized light oscillated in directions other than the prescribed direction; and at least a first reflection part 214 and a second reflection part 204 which reflect light reflected by the reflective polarizer 222. The first reflection part 214 reflects light L3 going from the reflective polarizer 222 to the first reflection part 214, toward the second reflection part 204, and the second reflection part 204 reflects light L4 going from the first reflection part 214 to the second reflection part 204, toward the reflective polarizer 222 or toward the first reflection part 214, and light emitting parts 202 and 212 are laminated on at least one of the first and second reflection parts 214 and 204. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
