<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reproducing device capable of quickly correcting a spherical aberration and preventing the deterioration of signal quality. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a circuit for generating a reproduced signal from a reflected light by the recording medium of an optical spot, an equalizer 205 for equalizing the waveform of the generated reproduced signal, a circuit 206 for restoring information based on the waveform-equalized reproduced signal, a spherical aberration detection circuit 209 for detecting a spherical aberration detection signal indicating a spherical aberration amount generated in the optical spot, and a means for changing the equalizing filter coefficient of the waveform equalizing circuit based on the spherical aberration detection signal.
