PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler of simple structure in which both enhancement of cooling performance and reduction of operating sound are satisfied. SOLUTION: In the motor cooler comprising an impeller 2 pivoted on the rotary shaft 1a of a motor 1, and a fan cover 4 covering the front part and the outer circumferential part of the impeller 2 and having an air inlet 5 in the front surface and an air outlet 6 in the rear, a contraction space S<SB>1</SB>defined by the motor end face 1b having a circumferential surface enlarging obliquely outward in the radial direction and an outer shape member 10 formed on the inner surface of the fan cover 4 is provided on the outlet side of the impeller 2 while having an inlet in the vicinity of the back side of the vane 3 in the impeller 2 so that rotational direction flow on the outlet side of the impeller 2 transits to axial flow in the contraction space S<SB>1</SB>and straightened.
