PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a required time and necessary frequency of a bucket vehicle in an installation work and adjusting equipment by providing technique to reliably and easily perform the initial setting of an imaging unit included in a passage vehicle identifying apparatus and perform adjustment relative to the initial setting, and to mitigate the time and frequency of traffic lane restriction. SOLUTION: It is preferable to prepare a regular-triangle template and an optical template, so as to perform the adjustment of the imaging unit and correspondence to image pickup data first, based on an actual dimension and a calculation dimension. An image where the template and the optical template appear on a screen is compared as necessary with the first image pickup data recorded in a data storage part. Accordingly, the width of a viewing angle is adjusted by adjusting the pan, tilt, zoom and focus of the imaging unit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
