PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method for performing authentication while high security is maintained, with least encryption process. SOLUTION: An authentication equipment (200) generates random number data which is transmitted to an information equipment (100). The random number data which has been transmitted is encrypted using key data to generate a first encryption data. The first encryption data is divided at a predetermined ratio to generate a plurality of split first encryption data which is stored. The information equipment encrypts the random data that has been received using key data to generate a second encryption data. The second encryption data is divided at a predetermined ratio to generate a plurality of split second encryption data, and each data is individually transmitted to the authentication equipment. The authentication equipment compares each split second encryption data that has been received to a corresponding split first encryption data, for judging whether the information equipment is authenticated or not.
