PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system, a wireless communication apparatus, and a wireless communication method, and a computer program whereby each communication station autonomously and distributingly sets an operating channel to carry out a sleeping operation and band reservation communication in a wireless network wherein a plurality of channels are prepared. SOLUTION: Each communication station ordinarily carries out notice of beacon and data communication on a reference channel that is defined. On the occurrence of a demand of data communication, each communication station carries out the data communication through other channels. Each communication station informs of a slot utilizing state of the channel in use and a beacon transmission slot on the other channels by using the beacon through the reference channel. Further, each communication station informs of a slot utilizing state of the channel in use and a beacon transmission slot on the reference channel by using the beacon through the other channels.
