PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for detecting/correcting a state of a fuel injection valve of an auxiliary chamber type gas engine equipped with the fuel injection valve for ignition, in which existence or nonexisting of clogging of an injection hole in operation of an engine can be highly accurately and constantly determined by using a very simple method with high working efficiency and thereby to prevent deterioration of engine performance caused by the clogging of the injection hole, and the service life of the fuel injection valve can be elongated. SOLUTION: The auxiliary chamber type gas engine has the fuel injection valve for ignition for igniting and burning gas fuel in an auxiliary chamber of the engine so that ignition flame is blown into a main combustion chamber to burn gas fuel in the main combustion chamber. In detection/correction of the state of the fuel injection valve of the auxiliary chamber type gas engine, consumption of fuel injected from the fuel injection valve is detected, the fuel consumption detection value is compared to allowable fuel consumption of clogging of the injection hole set to correspond to an engine operating condition. When the fuel consumption detection value is allowable fuel consumption or less, generation of the clogging of the injection hole is determined, and a fuel injection amount of the fuel injection valve is increased.
