PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifter for allowing a wheelchair user to easily go in and out of a swimming pool while still riding in a wheelchair. SOLUTION: This lifter is liftably arranged in the swimming pool, and is constituted so that a lifting floor 2 is arranged for riding the wheelchair into a recessed place from the pool edge by arranging the recessed place on the pool edge. An entrance for opening and closing in a double-leafed hinged shape to one side is arranged on a lifting floor 2, and a fence-like enclosure 3 is arranged on both sides. Upper-lower rollers 5 are fitted to a vertically arranged rail 6. A liftably supported base 7 is connected to a rope 8 composed of an endless chain. The rope 8 is circularly driven in the normal or inverse direction by rotatingly driving a sprocket 11 by a motor with a speed reducer, to lift the lifting floor 2 connected to the base 7 so that the height can be adjusted by a bolt 13.
