STEERING DEVICE FOR OUTBOARD MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device not occupying a wide space at the periphery of a bracket. SOLUTION: A swivel bracket 4 is provided on a stern board 2 through a clamp bracket 3, a steering bracket 7 is rotatably provided on a swivel shaft 5 and an outboard motor body 8 is fixed to the steering bracket 7. An electric motor 16 is stored in a shaft part 21 of the steering bracket 7 and is engaged with a fixed gear 27 fixed to the swivel bracket 4 through a speed reduction gear 23. The steering bracket 7 itself is rotated with respect to the swivel bracket 4 by driving of the electric motor 16 and the outboard motor body 8 is rotated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
