PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To basically eliminate the generation of combustible gas due to the stay of garbage at a storage pit and to eliminate fire or a decrease in gas collection efficiency in the subsequent steps, so as to drastically reduce measures against odor. SOLUTION: The wet storage system comprises a hopper apparatus 2 for accepting brought-in garbage a from the upper part and then sending out the garbage a from the lower part, a crushing apparatus 3 for crushing the garbage supplied from the hopper apparatus 2, a mixing apparatus 4 for accepting crushed garbage b and then mixing the garbage b with water for slurry formation, and a storage tank 6 for storing liquid slurry c supplied from the mixing apparats 4. The liquid slurry c is then sent to the subsequent step. The hopper apparatus 2, the crushing apparatus 3, and the like are provided with a water cleaning apparatus in an appropriate form such as a jet water injection form so as to wash away dirt with cleaning water w2.
