PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for injecting calcium to drinking water capable of quickening dissolution speed of calcium hydroxide and completely eliminating insoluble calcium. SOLUTION: In the method for injecting calcium for decreasing the corrosiveness of drinking water, an alkaline solution consisting of a part of purified water used as the drinking water, a mineral acid other than sulfuric acid and calcium hydroxide is added to the purified water used as the drinking water. The alkaline solution is capable of eliminating precipitate through solid-liquid separation before being added to the purified water and can be obtained by adding the mineral acid and calcium hydroxide to a part of the purified water such that the pH becomes 11 to 13.
