In one aspect, a carrier ( 10 ) for a data storage device has a base ( 22 ) and side walls ( 23,24 ) upstanding from the base ( 22 ). The width of the carrier runner ( 25 ) generally transverse to the side wall ( 23,24 ) is greater than the thickness of the at least one side wall ( 23,24 ). In another aspect, a carrier ( 10 ) for a data storage device has a base ( 22 ) and side walls ( 23,24 ) upstanding from the base ( 22 ). The material of the carrier ( 10 ) is resilient. The carrier ( 10 ) is arranged such that the carrier ( 10 ) can grip a data storage device between the side walls ( 23,24 ).
